Job Title: Gas Pipeline Structural Engineer

PG&E is seeking a skilled Gas Pipeline Structural Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Gas Engineering department, you will be responsible for providing engineering and technical support for the design of gas transmission assets across the PG&E system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve pipeline project designs for compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Ensure constructible projects by collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Provide technical support for various PG&E departments, including Engineering, Planning, and Operations.
  • Perform routine engineering analysis and lead role in determining scope, schedule, budget, and resources needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to work on issues, projects, or activities.
  • Provide code interpretations and design guidance consistent with nationally recognized codes and standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering - Civil or job-related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of experience in engineering, job-related, with a focus on Civil and Structural design.
  • Experience with analysis and design of steel and concrete structures per ACI, AISC, and CBC Standards.
  • Experience with numerical modeling of pipe stress analyses models and structural analysis models.
  • EIT-Engineer-In-Training Certificate, California.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Civil or job-related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • PE-Professional Engineer Civil license.
  • Ability to obtain California Professional Engineer License (Civil) with a year.
  • Familiarity with PHMSA CFR 49 subpart 192.
