Responsibilities:
Position Summary
The Lead Technician plays a crucial role in PSA Airlines' business development by overseeing the activities of the designated maintenance department. By managing the operations of the maintenance team, the Lead Technician aims to reduce delays and enhance productivity and efficiency.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, layout, and coordinate the activities of the assigned Maintenance Department to minimize delays and enhance production and efficiency.
- The Lead Technician will oversee a maximum of 18 employees.
- Train and support team members in the proper procedures, methods, and practices relevant to their respective duties.
- Maintain the work areas, facilities, ground support equipment, and materials used for aircraft maintenance in a safe, clean, and operational state.
- Effectively coordinate between assigned maintenance personnel and the Inspection Department.
- Delegate responsibilities as the Lead Technician, while remaining accountable for overall duties.
- Manage Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
- Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Position Specifics:
Qualifications Required
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification.
- Minimum one year of experience with turbine-powered aircraft with a maximum gross takeoff weight (MGTOW) of 12,500 lbs.
- In-depth knowledge of aircraft maintenance processes and the ability to utilize relevant Manuals (GMM, AMM, FIM, Wiring diagrams, etc.).
- Run Taxi/Qualified (within 120 days), including AMA, if applicable.
- Proficient in using required calibrated test equipment.
- Must be in good company standing (STEP 1 violations considered).
- Completion of PSA Indoctrination training and General Familiarization (training qualifications accepted).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Airworthiness Release Qualified within 90 days.
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a U.S. Passport or equivalent within 90 days of starting the position.
- Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
- If hired, must demonstrate authorization to work in the U.S.
Additional Information
Delegation:
In the absence of the Lead Technician, responsibilities will be delegated to the Manager of Maintenance.
Authorities:
None.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position leads others but does not have direct reports.
Work Environment:
This role operates in a professional office environment, routinely utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines, and filing cabinets.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.This is primarily a sedentary role; however, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb stairs, lift weights up to 25 lbs, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
