TalentBurst, Inc is currently seeking a local contract Histology Technician for a permanent position in Richmond, Virginia.

Histology Technologist

About the Job

We are looking for an experienced Histology Technician to join our team. As a Histology Technologist, you will be responsible for performing histology and cytology procedures, including specimen processing/fixation, cell block preparation, embedding, microtomy, slide preparation, routine stains, IHC and special stains, case organization in accordance with department procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform histology and cytology procedures
  • Prepare and maintain reagents for routine stains and histology procedures
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and instrumentation
  • Adhere to department policy with regards to performance and documentation of quality control and quality assurance
  • Utilize independent judgement and problem solving skills to ensure accuracy of procedures performed and proper equipment performance

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology
  • More than one year of experience in Histology
  • 1-3 years of experience in a high volume histology setting is required
  • Certified Technologist

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience
