Key Responsibilities: * Provide prompt and accurate checkout while operating a cash register * Verify bank deposit and cash drawer at close of business * Communicate over/shorts to Accounting and Retail before leaving for the evening * Drop bank deposit at the stores assigned bank and be followed by a member of the Goodwill store staff * Follow retail dress code for sales area, including wearing a smock * Able to perform opening and closing procedures per retail policy Donation and Processing: * Greet donors promptly and cheerfully to offer assistance and being courteous and appreciative to all donors * Offer every donor a receipt * Be knowledgeable of acceptable donations, decline donations when appropriate * Record donations * Sort products into specific containers according to sorting procedures * Wear personal protective gear Customer Service and Sales: * Meet production goals for grading, sorting, hanging, pricing and tagging donated items in preparation for retail sale * Keep store stocked in accordance with production goals by transferring saleable items to sales floor * Prepare products for shipping in accordance with the standard operating procedure * Wear personal protective gear Minimum Qualifications: * No education requirements * No experience necessary * Able to communicate effectively with other store employees * Able to learn new processes quickly and possesses strong organizational skills * Able to problem-solve, prioritize and be able to multi-task * Able to do basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) and manage a budget * Able to operate cash register * Basic computer skills
