Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Travel Nurse RN to join our team at UC Irvine Medical Center. This role requires specialized skills and certifications to provide exceptional care in emergency settings.

Certification Requirements
  • AHA and RQI certifications are mandatory.
  • Instructor certifications are not accepted.
  • Must possess Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
  • For non-clinical roles, BLS may not be required unless specified.
  • Per diem positions are available for various technical roles.
Job Details
  • The manager permits a maximum of 3 days of Requested Time Off (RTO).
  • A minimum of 3 years of ER experience is required.
  • First-time travelers are not eligible.
  • Emergency California license is acceptable.
  • RNs will be expected to float within ER areas as necessary.
  • Experience in a Level 1 trauma center is preferred.
  • Proof of full vaccination is required prior to the start date.
Essential Skills
  • Required Skills: IV initiation, Telemetry, Phlebotomy, Conscious sedation, EKG.
  • PALS and CPI Blue Card from the Crisis Prevention Institute must be available at the time of submission.
Scheduling Information
  • RTO must be included in the submission and cannot be altered once sent for review.
  • Preferred RTO is no more than 7 days during a 13-week contract.
  • No RTO is allowed during the initial 2 weeks of the assignment.
Unit Specific Information

The cost center has various unit descriptions based on specialty areas, including Emergency Department, Medical/Surgical Telemetry, and Intensive Care.

  • Attestation is acceptable for subs.
  • A government-issued photo ID is required.
  • Required certifications are detailed in the unit description according to the cost center number.
  • A signed HIPAA acknowledgment is mandatory for all candidates.
