ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Mortgage Underwriter, you will manage a diverse range of responsibilities on an ongoing basis. Your role will involve reviewing and approving mortgage applications with precision, ensuring compliance with bank policies and procedures. You will also oversee the Bank's correspondent and wholesale mortgage lending relationships. Ultimately, your contributions will play a crucial role in helping individuals achieve their dreams of homeownership. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proven experience in residential mortgage underwriting
  • Direct Endorsement (DE) certification is mandatory
  • Familiarity with VA Portal is preferred
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational abilities and capacity to handle multiple tasks
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
  • Proficient in mathematics with a high level of precision
  • Skilled in Word and Excel, with the ability to learn mortgage software
  • Willingness to understand internal policies and government loan programs
