Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Substitute Teacher to join our team at Frederick County Public Schools. As a Substitute Teacher, you will be responsible for providing instructional support and supervision to students in a kindergarten classroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement daily lesson plans to meet the instructional needs of students.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
  • Use a variety of teaching techniques and resources to implement approved curriculum and meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Evaluate student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a smooth and successful learning experience.
  • Supervise students during school hours and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration.
Requirements
  • An Associate's degree or 60 college credits.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Possess a Bachelor's/Master's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Work Environment

The Substitute Teacher will work in a moderate noise environment with regular conversations and meetings. The ability to travel to school and other local locations is required.
