Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembly Technician III to join our team at Trenton Systems. As a key member of our assembly team, you will be responsible for assembling and testing computer systems, sub-assemblies, and parts using assembly drawings, pictures, procedures, and verbal instruction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform first prototype build assembly, devise design for manufacturability documentation, create procedures, and write work instructions on new products and engineering prototypes.
  • Liaise with manufacturing build teams on pilot and production builds, train manufacturing personnel on new products and processes, and design manufacturing cells and assembly processes for new and existing products.
  • Perform functional tests on assemblies per drawings and procedures, make recommendations for changes, and update procedures as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, assist with root cause analysis to identify corrective actions for products and production systems, and participate in continuous improvement projects.
Requirements
  • Technical school diploma in Mech Electronics or Mech Assembly, 8-10 years' electrical/mechanical assembly experience, and technical writing experience.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, understanding of MRP Systems & processes, use of electronic & pneumatic assembly tools, measuring devices, etc.
  • Six Sigma - Lean Training or exposure, product defect analysis & reporting, forklift experience, and metal shop/rework experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical school degree or Assoc Degree in Mech Engineering, 10-15 years' electrical/mechanical assembly and test experience, technical writing experience, and CAD design - Mech Eng.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, understanding of MRP Systems & processes, use of electronic & pneumatic assembly tools, measuring devices, etc.
  • Green Belt – Six Sigma, write failure analysis reports, forklift experience, and metal shop/fabrication experience.
