Job Summary

This position is responsible for designing a wide variety of tools consistent with standard tool configuration, including cutting and forming tools. The successful candidate will study drawings and determine tool specifications and requirements by interfacing with manufacturing staff to determine the best design for the tool.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design tooling for metal tube forming using provided computer programs.
  • Evaluate available material for tooling.
  • Provide data for suggested modifications.
  • Review current tooling specifications and suggest improvements.
  • Interact with manufacturing, maintenance, tool vendors, quality, and other department supervisors or managers to solve and correct existing and expected manufacturing problems.
  • Train other tooling employees as necessary.
  • Work with Purchasing to purchase necessary materials.
  • Coordinate out-sourced work with vendors.
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of and commitment to Lean Manufacturing principles and techniques.
  • Demonstrate Viega Values in all communications, interactions, and decisions.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated skills in cost/benefit analysis.

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience
