Role Overview:As a Mechanical Systems Engineer Intern, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of space exploration. Your contributions will be essential in ensuring the safety and reliability of our spaceflight operations.
This position will involve applying standard engineering methodologies to design, install, modify, analyze, repair, and test various mechanical systems and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Engage in the development, release, and support of engineering documentation throughout the hardware lifecycle.
- Implement operating procedures and troubleshoot system malfunctions, providing technical insights.
- Conduct research and analysis on design proposals and specifications to assess feasibility and maintenance needs.
- Specify system components and direct modifications to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
- Investigate equipment failures to diagnose issues and recommend solutions to maintenance teams.
To be considered for this role, candidates should have:
- Completion of an internship with Blue Origin.
- Enrollment or recent graduation from a college or university.
- A B.S. degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechatronics, or a related field.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively on fast-paced projects.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for continuous learning.
- U.S. citizenship or lawful residency status.
Advanced degrees in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or mechatronics are desirable.
