Job Title: Staff Nutritionist

CIFC Health's Regional WIC Program is seeking a full-time Staff Nutritionist to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Staff Nutritionist will assist the Program Nutritionist with all nutrition-related program components, including planning, implementation, and compliance with federal and state requirements. The successful candidate will provide nutritional counseling and education to clients, evaluate and update nutrition education plans, and conduct WIC nutrition assessments.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct WIC nutrition assessments and determine nutritional risk of WIC participants.
  • Assign and tailor WIC food packages for participants.
  • Ensure proper certification of eligible applicants.
  • Assist with the implementation of the nutrition and breastfeeding promotion and support component of the local agency plan.
  • Meet State and local objectives.
  • Provide and document nutrition education, counseling, and breastfeeding support.
  • Refer WIC participants to other appropriate resources.
Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Foods and Nutrition, Community Nutrition, Nutrition Education, or Nutritional Sciences from a four-year institution accredited by a recognized regional accrediting body. Preferably, a Registered Dietitian (R.D.) or eligibility with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' Commission on Dietetic Registration. A Master's degree in Nutritional Sciences, Community Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health Nutrition, or Home Economics with a major in Foods and Nutrition is also acceptable.
