Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet and Facilities Manager to join our team at US Foods, Inc. This role will be responsible for managing the daily work and safety of associates engaged in fleet, building, grounds, sanitation, refrigeration systems, power industrial equipment, and security maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily work and safety of associates through tracking software and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Assign and monitor facility projects for quality and timely completion.
  • Develop and train associates on preferred work methods (PMWs).
  • Lead to create a culture of safety that ensures every associate remains injury-free.
  • Interpret, train, and enforce Company policies and procedures.
  • Perform management functions of staff selection, development, discipline, performance reviews, and terminations.
  • Maintain associate relations through regular meetings and open communication.
  • Develop business relationships with third-party vendors, including utility representatives, refrigeration contractors, janitorial services, pest control, and security.
  • Manage purchasing, warranties, capital improvement requests, and parts department inventory levels.
  • Ensure all vehicles are in proper working condition by performing and/or overseeing maintenance.
  • Work with drivers to enable them to operate specialized equipment properly.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies, including OSHA, EPA, USDA, DOT, and Tax Commission.
  • Conduct audits to ensure all required inspections and documentation are completed accurately.
  • Coordinate efforts with the Safety department to aid in training, associate observations, and routine safety inspections.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of maintenance management experience.
  • Working knowledge of ammonia and Freon systems.
  • Working knowledge of environmental regulations and governing bodies.
  • Good interpersonal skills to establish and maintain co-worker relationships.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Strong problem-solving and organization skills with a focus on meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certificate, licenses, and registrations in refrigeration/HVAC.
  • Level 1 Ammonia Operation Certification.
  • Powered Industrial Equipment Certification.
  • Certificate in fleet trade/mechanic.
  • State Inspections License.
  • Class A or B commercial driver license.
