Position Summary

Under general supervision and in accordance with established protocols, the Interventional Radiology Technologist serves as a lead resource for personnel engaged in Angiography procedures while also fulfilling the duties of an Angiography Technologist as needed.

  • Facilitates workflow, assigns tasks, and supervises staff in executing their responsibilities.
  • Monitors the activities of Angiography Technologists, addressing routine and complex issues to ensure departmental efficiency and safety.
  • Oversees the quality and quantity of work to guarantee timely completion of tasks.
  • Ensures compliance with departmental standards for diagnostic procedures.
  • Provides input for personnel evaluations, hiring decisions, and disciplinary actions.
  • Assists in monitoring performance improvement initiatives and manages scheduling and timekeeping for angiography technologists.
  • Available for on-call duties as required by the department.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology (RT), Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI), or Cardiovascular-Interventional (CV).
  • Completion of American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training by the end of the orientation period.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire for adult settings or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 1 year for cardiology settings.
  • Two or more years of progressively responsible experience in Interventional Radiology.
