Role Overview:
Soliant Education is in search of a dedicated and proficient Special Education Teacher for a full-time, onsite position in Romulus, Michigan. This role requires working within a self-contained classroom environment, focusing on K-2 students diagnosed with Autism and Cognitive Impairments. You will be responsible for leading a classroom of 12 students, working in close collaboration with 2 paraprofessionals to deliver tailored support and instruction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of each student.
- Establish a nurturing and stimulating classroom atmosphere that promotes learning and personal growth.
- Deliver direct instruction and behavioral guidance to students with Autism and cognitive challenges.
- Work alongside paraprofessionals to ensure effective classroom management and support.
- Maintain regular communication with parents, educational staff, and other professionals to coordinate support and monitor student development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related discipline.
- Valid state certification in Special Education.
- Preferred experience working with young learners with Autism and Cognitive Impairments.
- Strong skills in organization, communication, and classroom management.
