Job Description

Connecticut State Community College is seeking a highly qualified Academic Coach to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing dynamic, engaging, and empowering project-based courses as part of our 6-week summer program for area high school students.

The Academic Coach will work closely with the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and the Upward Bound Site Coordinator to develop curriculum, design lesson objectives and daily plans, manage classroom environments, conduct parent/guardian outreach, track attendance, and complete student evaluations. The coach will also be responsible for evaluating student projects based on a rubric.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and two or more years of experience working with middle or high school students in an educational setting. They will also possess advanced knowledge and abilities in assessment techniques, cultural responsiveness, and technology literacy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Two or more years of experience working with middle or high school students

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Connecticut Secondary Teaching Certification
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish, Albanian)
  • Experience utilizing online platforms for communication, assessment, and data collection

Salary: $39.44 hourly
