Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Actuarial Consultant to join our team at CNA Insurance. As a key member of our actuarial team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing pricing strategies for our large account business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain pricing models and tools to ensure accurate and efficient pricing of large accounts.
  • Collaborate with business partners to understand market trends and customer needs, and to develop pricing strategies that meet those needs.
  • Perform complex actuarial calculations and analyses to determine pricing or reserve strategy for assigned areas.
  • Monitor and analyze profitability and trends for product lines or segments, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure accuracy of all financial reports and statements, and communicate results to senior management.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, including underwriting, claims, and finance teams.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of actuarial principles and practices, including pricing, reserving, and risk management.
  • Advanced actuarial technical expertise and product-specific knowledge.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively resolve complex situations and issues.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of CNA's internal and external business partners.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and make critical business decisions effectively within scope of authority based on data analyses and reviews.

In New York/California, the average base pay range for a Senior Actuarial Consultant is $143,500 to $179,500. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and location.
