We are seeking a skilled Cardiology Nurse (PRN) to join our team at Providence Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare. As a Cardiology Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in our cardiovascular department.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess patients' cardiac health through physical examinations, reviewing medical histories, and monitoring vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation.
- Monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and interpret electrocardiograms (ECGs) to identify irregularities or signs of distress.
- Administer medications as prescribed by physicians, including intravenous medications, oral medications, and intravenous infusions, including medications to regulate blood pressure, control arrhythmias, or manage heart failure symptoms.
- Provide education to patients and their families about cardiac conditions, medications, lifestyle modifications, and self-care techniques to manage their condition effectively.
- Assist physicians during cardiac procedures such as nuclear stress tests.
- Respond to cardiac emergencies such as cardiac arrests or acute myocardial infarctions (heart attacks) by initiating cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) protocols.
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Active state Registered Nursing (RN) License; required.
- Current BCLS (AHA), ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current required.
- One (1) year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area; required.
