Job Overview:

The Room Attendant plays a crucial role in ensuring that guests enjoy a seamless and unforgettable stay, making them feel appreciated and cared for. This position involves the thorough cleaning and upkeep of assigned guest rooms, as well as various public and back-of-house areas within the hotel.

Key Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; experience in hospitality or a related field is advantageous.

  • Strong attention to detail, speed, and accuracy in job performance.
  • Physical capability to perform repetitive tasks, including bending and stooping.
  • Must frequently lift, push, and pull moderate weights.
  • Ability to scrub and clean surfaces, reach overhead for cleaning tasks, and work in tight spaces.
  • Capability to follow instructions and meet deadlines, including the thorough cleaning of the assigned number of rooms.
  • Basic understanding of the English language to comprehend labels, instructions, and guest requests.
  • Previous experience in cleaning is preferred.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform cleaning of assigned guest rooms according to company standards (changing linens, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, dusting, etc.).
  • Restock amenities and supplies in guest rooms as needed.
  • Maintain and organize the housekeeping cart.
  • Report any maintenance issues to the Supervisor promptly.
  • Greet guests in hallways and public areas with a warm and friendly attitude, offering assistance as required.
  • Ensure that special requests from guests are noted and fulfilled.
  • Provide information about the hotel, its brand standards, and local attractions.
  • Communicate with all departments regarding in-house VIPs and any special requests or needs.
  • Deliver newspapers, messages, packages, and other items requested by guests or team members.
  • Assist with luggage storage and retrieval as needed.
  • Maintain a visible presence during peak traffic times.
  • Interact professionally with hotel associates, providing necessary information to assist other departments.
  • Manage and resolve guest complaints and compliments in a courteous manner.
  • Respond to guest inquiries using a positive and clear speaking voice.
  • Stay informed about all property amenities, special events, and local attractions to enhance the guest experience.
