The National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) is a membership organization for federally qualified health centers.

These clinics provide access to high-quality, culturally competent care in medically underserved areas. NACHC supports the health center movement through advocacy, training, and technical assistance, clinical and operations support.

NACHC's Health Center Operations and Governance functional area preserves, strengthens, and expands the health center movement by supporting boards and workforce with leadership development and operational performance improvement tools.

We design, deliver, and evaluate training services with guideposts in mind: content relevance, engaging instructional design, and leveraging partnerships. This ensures an impactful learning experience that directly translates into thriving health centers for communities, patients, and employees.

The Director of Health Center Governance will design, implement, and evaluate NACHC's health center governance training and technical assistance portfolio serving health center boards and board members. The Director collaborates internally and externally to produce relevant training addressing health center board roles and topical issues in healthcare tailored for health centers and their unique patient-majority, volunteer boards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic leadership and management of health center governance training and technical assistance
  • Design and implementation of training services addressing health center board roles and topical issues in healthcare
  • Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to produce relevant training and resources
  • Maintenance of resource stewardship and oversight
  • Application of adult learning and instructional design principles and techniques

Requirements:

  • Nonprofit governance knowledge and experience working with nonprofit boards and board members
  • Business acumen in provision of training and technical assistance services
  • Minimum eight years related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated willingness to travel 3-4 NACHC conferences annually and several regional events each year

About the Opportunity:

This role requires a skilled professional with expertise in nonprofit governance, strategic partnership development, and adult learning. As a key member of the Health Center Operations and Governance team, you will drive the growth and success of the health center movement.

Salary:$90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience
