As a Registered Nurse, you will play a crucial role in delivering direct and comprehensive nursing care, overseeing medication management, and promoting physical and mental health integration.
About the Role:The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Facilitating patient care within the Safe Haven
- Reviewing medical documents and shelter referral packets
- Managing inventory for medical supplies
- Coordinating and scheduling patient appointments
- Providing triage, arranging lab work, administering medications, and educating patients
- Supporting the administration of medication and evaluating patient responses
- Maintaining and tracking medication deliveries
- Planning and coordinating care and interventions
- Participating in clinical case reviews
- Providing crisis intervention and first aid as needed
- Running client groups on health and wellness 1-2x monthly
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited School of Nursing
- A current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in NY
- BLS certification upon hire
- 2-3 years of experience, with a preference for experience in mental health and addiction settings
- Strong clinical and technical skills, including phlebotomy and medication administration
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Compassionate and understanding towards individuals experiencing homelessness
