Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner with gastroenterology experience to provide exceptional patient care in collaboration with our gastroenterology physicians. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering top-notch medical services, including diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventive care, and health maintenance.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough gastroenterology assessments of patients, documenting pertinent findings.
  • Initiate, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests to inform patient care.
  • Systematically compare and contrast clinical diagnostic findings with normal and abnormal variations to make accurate differential diagnoses.
  • Utilize evidence-based care practices to meet the complex needs of patients.
  • Evaluate diagnoses and the effectiveness of interventions to achieve expected outcomes.
  • Prescribe treatments, therapy procedures, and medications in accordance with New York State and federal law.
  • Consider patients' comprehensive overall health needs, delivering integrated patient care.
  • Collaborate with other clinicians and staff members to ensure continuity of patient care.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required.
  • Participate in staff educational programs and meetings.
Qualifications
  • Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN)
  • Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner education program registered by the New York State Education Department.
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner from a New York State approved accrediting body - American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
  • Current, unrestricted New York State license.
  • Minimum 1 year gastroenterology experience.
  • Active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or eligibility for registration.
  • Active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or eligibility to enroll.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office.
