About This Role:

As a Project Manager II at Kansas State University, you will provide management for assigned capital and non-capital projects. This includes procurement of professional design services, overseeing the design team during the design delivery process, project scheduling, project budget, pre-qualification of contractors, material preparation for solicitation of contractor bids, management of the contractor selection process within the boundaries of State of Kansas guidelines, processing and approval of invoices, field inspections, monitoring construction progress, and project close-out.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain warranty certificates, operating manuals, and affidavits for issuance of Certificates of Substantial Completion/Occupancy.
  • Manage the project close-out process to ensure a smooth transition from the construction phase to occupied use by occupants and operation by maintenance staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree and three years of relevant experience.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three to five years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction project delivery.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of local codes and standards of construction.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to travel to on and off-campus locations for business activities.
