RF Engineer Job Description

Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) is a leader in the development of commercial fusion energy. We are seeking an experienced RF Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design, integration, and testing of our high-power RF systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high-power RF system design, integration, and testing, as well as experience with modern high-performance embedded digital controllers. Proficiency in Altium or similar electrical design software and NX or similar mechanical design software is also required.

The RF Engineer will be responsible for integrating, testing, and commissioning RF system components, including RF sources, amplifiers, transmission lines, antennas, splitters/combiners, and power supplies. The candidate will also troubleshoot RF system hardware, develop manufacturing processes specific to RF components, and design and integrate RF signal detection and measurement circuits that will interface with the control and data collection system of SPARC.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 2+ years of hands-on experience in high-power RF system design, integration, and/or test. Experience with RF/Microwave simulation software, such as CST or HFSS, is also highly desirable.
