Your responsibilities will include overseeing and coordinating utility construction initiatives, demonstrating strong leadership, technical expertise, and a steadfast commitment to safety and quality.


This role entails organizing and supervising construction activities, adhering to company protocols, collaborating closely with the project team, engaging in physically demanding tasks, and ensuring the successful completion of projects.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervising and monitoring daily operations, planning and managing to job specifications.
  • Leading and guiding a team of utility construction personnel.
  • Providing training and mentorship to less experienced team members.
  • Conducting regular safety meetings and inspections to uphold safety standards.
  • Coordinating equipment mobilization and demobilization as required for projects.
  • Monitoring and inspecting work to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Identifying and addressing challenges promptly, implementing effective solutions.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation to support project requirements.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to safety by modeling behaviors and taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Conducting pre-surveys of job locations and verifying that utility locates have been performed.
  • Managing and fostering effective relationships with customers and employees.
  • Analyzing and resolving work challenges, promoting a culture of problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Securing work sites to ensure public safety, as well as the safety of equipment and materials.
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality.
  • Coordinating activities with other trades and subcontractors on the construction site.
  • Reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications.
  • Performing all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in construction are a plus.
  • Must hold a valid Driver's License.
  • DOT Medical Card and Class A or B CDL required, if operating a company vehicle.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, with repeated lifting (up to 50 lbs.), kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • In-depth knowledge of utility construction methods, proper use of tools and materials, and safety practices.
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience in utility construction.
  • Proficient in computer skills and ability to use various software.
