Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance patient health by delivering medical services under the guidance of a supervising physician.
- Support physician efficiency by identifying immediate and long-term patient care needs.
- Propose treatment options and care strategies for patients.
- Execute physician directives effectively.
- Evaluate patient health through interviews and physical examinations, including the assessment of medical histories.
- Identify abnormal conditions by conducting or ordering diagnostic tests, such as X-rays and lab studies, and interpreting the results.
- Document patient care activities by maintaining accurate records.
- Administer therapeutic procedures, including injections, immunizations, and wound management.
- Provide patient education and counseling regarding growth, development, and emotional well-being.
- Coordinate care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment by following established protocols and regulations.
- Protect the health and safety of patients and staff by adhering to infection control policies.
- Stay informed on legal and professional requirements by reviewing relevant legislation and advising management on necessary actions.
- Enhance professional knowledge by participating in educational workshops and engaging with professional networks.
- Contribute to the development of healthcare team members through information sharing and educational opportunities.
Education and Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program or licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
- Current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Active licensure to practice as a PA/NP.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical care principles and patient care evaluation.
- Familiarity with medical equipment and instruments for effective patient care delivery.
- Ability to apply medical principles and techniques to ongoing patient care.
- Understanding of medications and their effects on patients.
- Skills in patient education to foster self-care initiatives.
- Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in emergency situations.
- Strong communication skills.
The role may involve substantial repetitive movements of the wrists, hands, and fingers. Exposure to patients with acute illnesses, communicable diseases, and allergens may occur.
Work Environment:
The position is based in a well-lit, climate-controlled clinic setting with moderate noise levels. Regular working hours are expected, with occasional requirements for additional hours or travel to other locations.
