Position Overview:
We are in search of a versatile news reporter to cover a wide array of topics, ranging from urgent news to in-depth investigations, both on camera and behind the scenes.

Key Responsibilities:
This role is pivotal as we are looking for a seasoned journalist with a solid history of addressing challenging assignments, demonstrating clarity and sophistication in writing, and rapidly developing expertise in various subjects. The ability to draw connections that may not be immediately apparent is essential.

Coverage will encompass everything from reporting on significant breaking news to providing context and insight that transcends the usual news cycle.

This position allows for extensive enterprise and investigative reporting, focusing on underrepresented communities, global events affecting our local neighborhoods, and highlighting the unique aspects of Houston that make it a vibrant hub for journalism.

Qualifications:
We require a minimum of 10 years of professional journalism experience, with the ability to report and write on issues pertinent to Houston. Candidates should be comfortable reporting on-site to add depth and perspective to stories, utilizing visual, social, and audio storytelling across preferred platforms for our target audiences.

Daily writing is expected, along with the ability to produce visually engaging stories on a weekly and monthly basis.

Collaboration with our audience, marketing, and development teams to promote our work is crucial.

A history of teamwork and collaboration that enhances journalism through co-authoring stories and mentorship is highly valued.

We seek a reporter who comprehends the global context of Houston and recognizes how international events resonate locally.

While proficiency in additional languages, particularly Spanish, is preferred, it is not a requirement for this position.
