Optician/Registration Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Optician/Registration to join our team at Southwest Health. As an Optician/Registration, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Assist customers with frames and lens selection, taking optical measurements and evaluating patient needs
- Verify orders, quote patients, and properly fit spectacles for patients
- Make fitting adjustments after sale and ensure all frames are adjusted, cleaned, and arranged by brand in display racks
- Order, label, and maintain supply inventories, including cases, frame parts, and other optical supplies
- File all delivered prescriptions neatly, in alphabetical order, and keep the shop, reception, and optical area neat and clean
- Rotate displays as needed and perform reception, patient financial services, and optical record duties as appropriate
- Conduct patient history in a manner and format required by the optometrist or supervisor, assess and record visual acuity, and neutralize and record spectacle prescription using a lensometer, manual or automatic
- Educate patients on important aspects of eye care, explaining the principles of basic eye care and testing procedures being performed
- Ensure all industrial frames are clean and accounted for, assist in dispensing contact lenses and frames, and perform frame adjustments and repairs
- Monitor service levels from current lens labs and report any decrease in service to the Clinical Manager
- Responsible for sending all weekly and monthly reports to the regional supervisor on a timely basis, including invoice receiving reports and daily transaction sheets
- Efficiently manage on-site inventory, check items in the optical area for expirations, and maintain equipment in a preventative maintenance program
- Manage patient complaints/problems, ensure all company policies and procedures are followed, and report any discrepancies or changes in policy to the Clinic Manager
- Adhere to Southwest Health's value-based behavior standards and understand and adhere to Southwest Health compliance and HIPAA standards
- High school diploma, equivalent, or higher level of education
- Optical technician school training or equivalent preferred
- 3 years' experience in the optical field preferred
- ABO certification preferred
