Nurse Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Manager to lead our Emergency Department team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and evaluating the operational, fiscal, and personnel activities to ensure the provision of high-quality, safe patient-centered care 24/7.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the hiring process to meet staffing needs and plan adequate staffing adjustments in alignment with patient volume and clinical needs.
- Evaluate and manage the performance of staff members, including coaching and performance management processes.
- Identify opportunities for best practices and oversee implementation to promote efficient, effective, safe, and compassionate nursing care.
- Proactively assess safety risks and promote a culture of safety.
- Manage staff and processes to achieve outcomes and organizational goals in regard to clinical quality, patient safety, and patient experience.
- Manage the operational budget for the unit, monitoring patient revenues and expenses, and providing required reports to administration.
- Ensure unit facilities and equipment meet necessary standards and monitor utilization.
- Facilitate the work of the Professional Nursing Organization and coach clinical nurses in professional development and engagement in the Program for Advancing Clinical Excellence (PACE) credentialing program.
- Assure compliance with Joint Commission and other applicable regulatory standards.
- Assume accountability for maintaining a safe work environment in alignment with Dartmouth-Hitchcock's commitment to employee safety and regulatory requirements.
- Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) is required.
- Master's degree strongly preferred.
- Supervisory and/or management experience required.
- 5 years of progressive responsibility within an acute care setting required.
- Must obtain and maintain clinical competencies within assigned unit.
- Clinical or professional certification preferred.
