Position Overview

The Maintenance Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the installation, upkeep, and repair of all company machinery, tools, and equipment within the facility. This role includes managing maintenance personnel and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations while minimizing downtime related to tooling issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret equipment manuals and work orders to execute necessary maintenance and service, ensuring all tools and fixtures are maintained through preventative measures.
  • Schedule and coordinate regular maintenance for equipment and facilities, including minor repairs such as light bulb replacements.
  • Develop and manage a budget for tool room supplies, die repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Identify and report faulty operations and defective materials to appropriate supervisory personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Participate in building maintenance for new constructions, renovations, or system updates.
  • Oversee contractor activities for various projects and ensure compliance with maintenance standards.
  • Organize project documentation and drawing packages to support ongoing activities.
  • Assist department management and project managers as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records in company databases and systems.
  • Prioritize maintenance work orders and manage requisitions effectively.
  • Ensure the maintenance department is well-stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Attend meetings and collaborate with local authorities as required.
  • Complete all necessary departmental reports and documentation.
  • Coordinate painting and decoration of facility interiors and exteriors as needed.
  • Adhere to established procedures for preventative maintenance and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Manage minor construction tasks such as wall installations and finish carpentry.
  • Maintain an inventory of equipment, manuals, and warranties.
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management systems for tracking and scheduling.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain electrical components and appliances in accordance with relevant codes.
  • Schedule preventative maintenance checks for electrical systems.
  • Oversee plumbing fixture installations and repairs.
  • Organize mechanical maintenance tasks as outlined in preventative maintenance manuals.
  • Address safety concerns and determine effective methods for task completion.
  • Manage snow removal and ice safety protocols.
  • Oversee landscaping and the overall aesthetic of the facility.
  • Prepare monthly reports and assist in budget preparation.
  • Contribute to the development of capital plans in collaboration with maintenance committees.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Ensure awareness and management of the Environmental Management System (EMS) and Quality Management System (QMS) as per company policies.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Community College program in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a mechanical or electrical capacity.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficient in maintaining organized schedules and documentation.
  • Demonstrated initiative, responsibility, and leadership capabilities.
  • Familiarity with contract administration and office procedures.
  • Basic repair skills for minor maintenance tasks.
  • Knowledge of workplace compliance regulations.
  • Experience leading environmental and safety programs.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Ability to travel internationally as required.
