Position Summary:

The Lead Mechanical Technician plays a crucial role in executing preventative maintenance inspections, promptly identifying potential corrective maintenance needs, and accurately recording activities in the Company’s Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Rig floor hydraulic systems
  • Pneumatic systems
  • Rotating and lifting machinery
  • Additional maintenance tasks as assigned
Reporting Structure:

This position reports to the 1st Engineer of the Machinery Room, the Mechanical Supervisor, and the Senior Maintenance Supervisor. The Lead Mechanical Technician oversees the work of the Mechanic and the 3rd Engineer of the Machinery Room (Top Side).

Main Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment on the drilling rig.
  • Supervise the cleanliness of the mechanic's workshop, material storage areas, and equipment related to the department.
  • Participate in daily maintenance tasks for all mechanical equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on mechanical systems utilized on the platform.
Professional Requirements:
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • In-depth technical knowledge in mechanics, electricity, mechatronics, or petroleum.
  • Solid administrative skills in computer usage from a user perspective.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent in the mechanical field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in the role of Lead Mechanical Technician in offshore environments.
