Key Responsibilities:


As a Trailer Technician, you will be responsible for conducting maintenance services that meet the quality and volume standards set by Dayton Freight Lines.

Possess a fundamental understanding of repairing and rebuilding components on 48ft. and 53ft. dry van trailers, including:

- Suspension and running gear components
- Landing gear assembly and components
- Wheel components and tires
- Brake and air components
- Electrical, lighting, and wiring components
- Rear frame and door components
- Side, nose, and roof components
- Interior and floor components

Perform thorough Preventative Maintenance inspections and repairs
Maintain a high level of welding and metal fabrication skills
Conduct service calls as needed
Wash and fuel equipment when necessary
Road test vehicles to ensure quality repairs were completed (dependent upon possessing a CDL)
Maintain a consistently positive attitude while interacting courteously and professionally with colleagues
Proactively assist, guide, and mentor junior technicians
Actively participate in the care and maintenance of the shop, grounds, and all equipment and tools
Ensure a clean and safe environment that complies with OSHA and company standards
Accurately record all work and labor using the EMS system
Collaborate with the Parts Department to maintain appropriate inventory levels of materials, parts, and shop supplies
Adhere to EPA regulations as well as DOT and company safety requirements
Perform additional maintenance duties or assignments as necessary

Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's License
- Basic math skills
- Proficiency in English
- Ability to pass a drug screening
