Position Overview
The International Services and Financial Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the financial activities of the Center for International Studies. This position is responsible for overseeing various logistical aspects and ensuring the smooth operation of financial transactions related to international programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the financial operations of the Center, including the preparation and maintenance of the annual operating budget, conducting financial and statistical analyses, and administering grants and scholarships.
- Facilitate the collection and reconciliation of student payments for study abroad programs, health insurance, and other related expenses, ensuring accuracy and compliance with university policies.
- Assist with the coordination of study abroad procedures, including travel arrangements and maintaining comprehensive records for assessment and reporting purposes.
- Act as a liaison with insurance providers to manage mandatory travel insurance contracts and ensure student compliance with insurance requirements.
- Utilize Glacier software for managing international student scholarship tax administration and assist students with tax preparation and obtaining necessary identification numbers.
- Support the organization of events such as International Student Orientation and International Education Week, enhancing the experience for international students.
- Serve as a secondary passport agent when necessary, ensuring timely processing of applications and adherence to policies.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in business, management, accounting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Proficient in using various software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and web-based applications.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with a focus on maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups, including students, faculty, and external partners.
This position is integral to the mission of Angelo State University, contributing to the development and retention of students through effective financial management and support services.
