Parts Support Specialist

As a Parts Support Specialist at W.W. Williams Company, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely completion of repairs and maximizing customer satisfaction. Your extensive knowledge of heavy-duty truck and trailer parts will enable you to assist technicians in the shop, develop accurate parts lists, and minimize customers' repair downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain accurate parts lists for repairs, utilizing product knowledge, computer software, and supplier catalogs.
- Minimize customers' repair downtime by expediting parts procurement and ensuring timely delivery.
- Identify and procure non-stock parts, leveraging relationships with local suppliers.
- Match customer needs with W.W. Williams product and service offerings, recommending solutions to maximize customer satisfaction and sales opportunities.
- Enter parts used on jobs into the computer system, ensuring accurate inventory levels and customer invoices.
- Recover freight costs by following the current freight policy.
- Estimate delivery dates to the shop, based on knowledge of inventory and stock delivery schedules, and communicate with the shop to ensure efficient use of technicians' time.
- Expedite urgent orders based on customers' requirements.
- Investigate and resolve problems with deliveries.
- Ensure proper tagging and return of cores from remanufactured products used on shop jobs.
- Verify completion and accuracy of parts portions of shop jobs to facilitate job closings.
- Assist in setting appropriate stocking levels by reporting stocking problems or opportunities.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 6+ months of equivalent combination education, training, and experience.
- Strong working knowledge of heavy-duty trucks and trailer parts.
- Basic knowledge of heavy-duty truck/trailer maintenance/repair business and the ability to learn mechanical terminology.
- Computer and software skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
