Position Overview
Under the general oversight of the Technology Director, this role is responsible for ensuring the operational integrity of the district's computer and network systems. The position involves diagnosing and rectifying hardware and software issues, while also addressing immediate technical challenges faced by users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain operating systems, application software, and associated computer hardware.
  • Conduct repairs on computer and network hardware and software, including servers, switches, printers, and scanners.
  • Create and manage email and internet accounts, ensuring proper configuration and security settings.
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot computer and network equipment to identify repair needs.
  • Analyze hardware malfunctions to determine appropriate corrective actions.
  • Provide technical assistance to users regarding hardware and software inquiries.
  • Ensure that computer labs are maintained in optimal working condition.
  • Train designated personnel to enhance their proficiency in using computer systems and software.
  • Coordinate repair requests related to computer and network issues.
  • Assist in maintaining records related to the operation and inventory of computer equipment and repairs.
  • Offer recommendations for the acquisition of new computers, software, and related technology.
Additional Responsibilities:
Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Familiarity with all software applications utilized within the school district.
  • Knowledge of current operating systems, hardware components, and associated peripherals.
  • Ability to assess, troubleshoot, and repair computer network systems, hardware, and software.
  • Capability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of email, internet, WAN, LAN, and other network operations.
  • Effective communication skills with users at all levels.
  • Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Proficient in reporting work status to supervisors in both oral and written formats.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Capability to perform basic arithmetic operations and complex calculations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and creative-thinking skills in relation to technology issues.
Physical and Mental Demands:
The role is performed in standard office and educational environments.
Qualifications:
A combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge for successful performance is required. Typical qualifications include:
  • High School diploma.
  • Relevant coursework from college or technical institutions.
  • Documented training in computer hardware, software, and network troubleshooting and repair.
  • A+ certification and networking certifications are preferred.
  • Valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide personal transportation.
