We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist to join our Investigational Drug Service team at UMass Memorial Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective management of investigational drugs, while also providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the advancement of medical research.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the receipt, storage, accountability, dispensing, and destruction of investigational drugs.
- Participate in investigational drug studies/protocols to improve patient outcomes.
- Monitor and oversee ongoing investigational drug activity by researchers and pharmacy staff.
- Maintain accurate inventory of investigational and protocol drugs.
- Coordinate the preparation and dispensing of investigational drugs.
- Supervise technical and support personnel.
- Provide resource support to investigators and study staff.
- Develop and manage pharmacy budgets for investigational studies.
- Collaborate with the Director of the Office of Clinical Research to establish policies and procedures.
- Document income/cost savings resulting from the Investigational Drug Service.
- Meet agency requirements for adequate control and accountability of investigational drugs.
- Prepare and submit monthly activity reports.
- Develop and maintain an educational database for approved studies.
- Provide staff education to patient care staff.
- Participate in weekend rotational coverage for oncology/investigational drugs.
- Participate in Good Clinical Practice educational process.
- PharmD degree or equivalent training in Pharmacy.
- License to practice in Massachusetts.
- Two to four years of related clinical experience.
- Working knowledge of pharmacy systems and database management.
- Demonstrated ability in teaching and excellent communication skills.
