As a skilled Jira Developer, you will play a critical part in implementing enhanced business operations workflows, governance structures, and strategic communication initiatives for the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer (CDAO).

We are seeking a highly experienced professional with 3-5 years of experience in configuring Jira Service Desk and the Atlassian suite to join our team as a Senior Digital Operations Specialist.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of business operations workflows and governance frameworks, ideally within a government or defense setting, and excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure and maintain Jira workflows to streamline business operations in alignment with CDAO objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address process inefficiencies, ensuring workflows support governance and operational goals.
  • Implement automation rules and scripts using Jira Automation, ScriptRunner, or equivalent tools to reduce manual effort and increase efficiency.
  • Integrate Jira with other Atlassian products and external tools, enabling seamless data exchange and enhanced collaboration.
  • Design dashboards and reporting tools to provide real-time insights into operational metrics and progress toward strategic initiatives.
  • Foster effective stakeholder engagement and drive the adoption of cutting-edge digital solutions.
  • Develop and enforce governance standards within Jira and the broader Atlassian ecosystem to ensure consistent application of best practices.
  • Ensure all configurations comply with security, policy, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Jira Developer or in a similar role, with deep expertise in configuring Jira Service Desk and the Atlassian suite.
  • Strong understanding of business operations workflows and governance frameworks, ideally within a government or defense setting.
  • Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Groovy, JavaScript) and integrating systems using REST APIs.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with digital transformation initiatives and Agile/DevOps methodologies is preferred.
  • Active Secret clearance or higher.
