OhioGuidestone is a leading provider of community behavioral health care, serving over 26,000 individuals in Ohio each year. Our mission is to empower individuals to take steps towards a healthier future by providing comprehensive prevention services, mental health treatment, and substance use services.

We are committed to providing high-quality internships for students at all learning levels. Our internship program offers hands-on experience and support to help you launch a successful career in behavioral health. You will work with clients throughout the lifespan in home, school, and community settings, and have the opportunity to choose from clinical focus areas such as early childhood, juvenile justice, chemical dependency, and maternal depression.

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to attend agency workshops and learn from experts in the field. You will also network and share experiences with other interns during our supervision group. We offer flexible scheduling and opportunities for employment post-internship.

Essential Functions:

Education & Experience:

Minimum education is working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or relevant field for the area of internship.

CT, MFT-T, SWT is required for working with clients in Graduate level Internships.

Required education is working towards a Master's Degree in Counseling. C-T trainee license is required.

Qualifications:

Mission driven; strong desire to make an impact.

Effective interpersonal and communication skills; able to speak effectively with individuals and/or groups of people across multiple forms of communication, such as in-person, phone call, email, etc.

Ability to customarily and regularly exercise discretion and good professional judgment.

Strong organizational skills; able to handle multiple priorities with strict attention to detail and independently work to complete assigned tasks.

Ability to maintain relevant, timely documentation as required.

Effective computer literacy skills, including Windows applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic health records, etc.

Must be able to access work locations, including agency offices, school-based settings, and places in the community, including client homes, as necessary.

Accessing work sites may include ascending/descending stairs.

English reading and writing skills required.

Interacts verbally with coworkers and representatives from outside agencies.

Confidentiality required.

Possess a valid Ohio Driver's License with a safe driving record and valid insurance.

Successfully meet pre-employment drug screen and background requirements.
