Job Summary

The Registered Nurse serves as a leader of the healthcare team at Novant Health by establishing a personalized relationship with patients and their support system. This role collaborates with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health or supports a peaceful death.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize best scientific evidence and compassion to assist patients in navigating their health journey.
  • Accept responsibility, authority, and accountability for management and provision of care in accordance with current policies and procedures.
  • Engage in teamwork and collaboration to ensure quality patient care.
  • Provide compassionate, holistic care to patients.
  • Work independently without close supervision.
Qualifications
  • 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of apheresis experience in the collection of hematopoietic progenitor cells (HPC, Apheresis) and mononuclear cells (MNC, Apheresis) preferred.
  • Current NC or compact state RN license, required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification, required.
  • Current (or actively pursuing) the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) and/or Blood and Marrow Transplantation (BMTCN) credential or the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Qualification in Apheresis (QIA) credentials, preferred.

  • Strong critical thinking skills.
