Electronics Engineer Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a Principal Electronics Engineer to join our Tactical Systems Department. This role will work on projects such as new sensing modules for our Integrated Weather Observation System, advanced sensors and electronics for military vehicles, and power control electronics for RF-based aircraft navigation systems.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop circuit boards using Altium with Concord Pro to manage designs and library components.
  • Develop firmware using our Common Libraries in C for PIC microcontrollers and VHDL or Verilog for FPGA's.
  • Develop and review technical data packages for assigned projects.
  • Write plans for testing hardware for fielding of prototypes with potential of transitioning prototypes to production.
  • Ensure project compliance with Intellisense practices and performance standards.
  • Perform peer circuit and code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback to team members.
  • Mentor junior colleagues and help troubleshoot problems across multiple software projects across multiple platforms.
  • Identify technical issues, propose solutions, and ensure appropriate action is taken to resolve technical issues.
Requirements
  • B.S. or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 12+ years of analog/digital circuit design with firmware development for low power standalone sensor systems.
  • Deep technical understanding and proficiency in C programming for microcontrollers and VHDL/Verilog for firmware.
  • Passion for electronics and hardware design with creative and critical thinking.
  • Strong E-CAD skill, preferably with Altium.
