Job Title: Senior Battery Electronics Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Battery Electronics Engineer to join our team at Galaxy Technology Hires LLC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in the development of our artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.

Job Summary:

The Senior Battery Electronics Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of battery and power systems for our space stations. This includes the specification, architecture, simulation, and validation of battery management systems, as well as the design of circuits for battery voltage/current sensing, charge balancing, and fault detection.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop battery and power systems for our space stations, including battery management systems and circuit designs for battery voltage/current sensing, charge balancing, and fault detection.
  • Perform failure modes and effects analyses and drive reliability design and validation plans at the system level.
  • Develop battery models for electronic simulation and system modeling and battery state-of-charge estimation algorithms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of battery and power systems with other spacecraft systems.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in battery development and design.
  • Strong understanding of battery management systems, circuit design, and power electronics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with software programming languages such as Matlab, Python, and C/C++.
  • Knowledge of vehicle and instrumentation buses such as Ethernet, CAN, SPI, and I2C.
  • Experience with full-lifecycle product development and testing.
  • Strong sense of accountability and integrity, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
