Job Title: Diesel Technician - Field Service Specialist

Are you a skilled diesel technician looking for a challenging role in a dynamic team? Do you have a passion for heavy equipment repair and maintenance? We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced diesel technician to join our field service team at Wagner Equipment Co.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled diesel technician to work with our customers to diagnose and repair heavy equipment at their sites. As a diesel technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing CAT equipment, ensuring that our customers' operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair CAT equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues to identify root causes
  • Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and provide solutions
  • Work independently with minimal supervision to complete tasks and meet deadlines
  • Collaborate with the service department, product support representatives, and sales department to meet customer needs
  • Teach and coach other technicians in the field to ensure knowledge sharing and best practices
  • Accurately troubleshoot and repair CAT equipment the first time to minimize downtime
  • Read, understand, and apply electrical and hydraulic schematics to repair work
  • Maintain tooling in good working order as per MSHA and OSHA regulations
  • Make determinations in the field on warranty repair and guidelines, communicating decisions to customers and dispatchers
  • Maintain service vehicles in safe and good repair

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Relevant CAT-related courses
  • At least 3+ years' experience servicing heavy equipment
  • 1-3 years administrative/clerical experience
  • 3-5 years customer service experience
  • 3-5 years sales experience
  • DOT Health Card
  • Class D Driver's License
  • MSHA License

Physical Demands & Competencies:

  • Standing, walking, talking, sitting, use of hands & hearing
  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, etc.
  • Heavy work that includes lifting and/or moving objects up to 100 pounds or more
  • Data Entry, telephone, reading/writing, reasoning, organizational, communication & math skills
  • Safety & Product Knowledge
  • Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Intermediate Knowledge of DBS
  • Intermediate Knowledge of ET/SIS/SIS Web/STW
  • Ability to work independently with little or no direction
  • Well-rounded knowledge of CAT equipment

Work Environment:

Noise: Loud

Indoors and Outdoors

Travel Requirements: 75%- 100%
