Mechanical Calibration Specialist

At Instron, we are seeking a skilled Mechanical Calibration Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our calibration laboratory, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and precision of our force measurement instruments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Calibrate force transducers in our in-house force laboratory
- Assemble, repair, and distribute calibration equipment to our field service organization
- Maintain proper filing systems to ensure documentation for force standards
- Assist in the creation and validation of work instructions required to support both in-house and field calibration activities
- Participate in good housekeeping activities within the laboratory
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or 4-5 years of related experience
- Basic understanding of calibration of precision force transducers, utilizing both primary and secondary standard systems
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate general hand and power tools, instruments, and testing apparatus
- Good mathematical skills and ability to communicate and work in a highly effective team environment
Working Conditions:
Normal plant environment with some exposure to dirt, dust, noise, and grease, operational equipment, and the hazards associated with the application of force measuring instrumentation.
