About the Role:

This role is responsible for collecting specimens via venipuncture or syringe, operating and maintaining equipment, and processing in-house and sent-out specimens.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect blood samples from patients via venipuncture or syringe.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records for all specimens collected.
  • Process specimens in-house and send them out to laboratories for analysis.
  • Utilize computer skills to efficiently order laboratory tests.
  • Assist patients in feeling relaxed during specimen collection procedures.
  • Adapt to workplace challenges and patient needs.
  • Manage stressful situations with professionalism and compassion.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) license or equivalent.
  • Proven phlebotomy skills.
  • Proficiency in computer use and related software applications.
  • Knowledge of safety and infection control standards.
