- No more than two separate incidents involving Federal Aviation regulations violations in the last five years;

Aviation Safety Inspector roles come with specific medical requirements. Applicants must meet these requirements, which will be evaluated during the pre-employment process.
Medical Requirements:Applicants must be physically capable of performing the duties of the Aviation Safety Inspector position safely and efficiently, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Good distant vision in each eye and the ability to read printed materials without strain (glasses and contact lenses permitted);
- Ability to hear conversational voices (hearing aids permitted);
- No physical conditions that would pose a hazard to themselves or others that could interfere with their ability to operate or occupy a flight deck observer's seat or a cabin passenger seat in various aircraft.
To qualify for this position, applicants must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FG-9, FG-11, or FG-12 level.
Specialized experience includes:
Experience that has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position. Applicants should include examples of specialized experience in their work history.
Additionally, applicants must meet all of the following:
- At least one year of pilot experience in multi-engine aircraft exceeding 12,500 pounds maximum certificated takeoff weight;
- Three years of experience in an organization with an air carrier, commercial operator, or air agency certificate, with at least one year involving multi-engine aircraft over 12,500 pounds maximum takeoff weight;
- A minimum of 1,500 total flight hours;
- Possession of a valid Airline Transport Pilot Certificate;
- No more than two flying accidents in the last five years involving the applicant's pilot error.
Specialized experience at the FG-12 grade level involves a broad range of assignments or a few highly complex tasks, requiring the employee to plan, organize, set priorities, and work independently. Work at this level is typically reviewed only for its impact on overall organizational objectives.
Specialized experience at the FG-11 grade level involves assignments with a broad scope of responsibility, greater variety, and some ambiguity in guidelines, typically subject to review for compliance with organizational policies and regulations.
Specialized experience at the FG-09 grade level involves assignments with familiar aircraft, facilities, and equipment, typically subject to review and specific guidelines to ensure compliance with instructions.
