Job Title: Structural Welder

Shipyard Staffing LLC is seeking a skilled Structural Welder to join our team in Norfolk, VA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform multi-pass, all-position fillet and butt welds using SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments.
  • Clean or degrease weld joints or work pieces.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment and select proper electrodes.
  • Perform grinding and joint preparation for NDT processes.
  • Construct or repair metal products by joining parts manually or by machine.
  • Read and understand Chemist and Competent Persons reports to ensure job sites are safe for personnel and hot work.
  • Mark or tag material with proper job numbers and identifying marks.
  • Wear personal protective equipment, including hard hat, safety glasses, and steel toe boots.
Requirements:
  • Must be able to demonstrate ability to perform multi-pass, all-position fillet and butt welds using SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW.
  • Knowledge of welding techniques, tools, and equipment.
  • Technical training preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and comprehend blueprints, sketches, and templates.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
