About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm Project Technician to join our team at Wachter. As a Fire Alarm Project Technician, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and upgrading fire alarm systems in commercial buildings across the United States.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, repair, and upgrade fire alarm systems, including programming control panels and mounting sensors.
  • Ensure all work complies with current codes and regulations, including NFPA standards.
  • Run low-voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and limited conduit work.
  • Complete all wiring, connections, and equipment installations to ensure fire alarm systems meet electrical and fire codes.
  • Troubleshoot new system installations to ensure proper functioning and compliance with local, county, state, or federal codes.
Requirements
  • NICET certification (preferred but not required).
  • Available to travel.
  • Current/valid state-required Physical Security license and/or Life Safety license in the applicable technology.
  • Experience reading blueprints and site maps.
  • Knowledgeable about NFPA standards, including NFPA 70 and 72.
  • Experience in burglar alarms, access control, and CCTV is a plus.
  • Excellent customer relationship and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Certified to operate a BOOM or scissor lift and able to work at heights.
  • Has basic telecommunication tools, PPE, and reliable transportation.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, no DUI or DWI in the last three years.
