This is a full-time, onsite position for a Laboratory Support Specialist working from Tuesday to Saturday, with hours from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at our East Longmeadow, MA facility.
Become a part of our team as a Laboratory Support Specialist, where you will apply your passion for science in the sample preparation sector of our environmental testing laboratory.
We provide comprehensive training to equip you for success in your new role and to foster your career in laboratory sciences at Pace.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with all laboratory sample-related tasks, including preservation, preparation, processing, and maintenance.
- Keep accurate documentation and update databases as necessary.
- Engage in training sessions focused on essential laboratory support policies and practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work in a laboratory or office environment, remain on your feet for extended periods, and handle samples while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as lab coats, safety glasses, and gloves, all provided by Pace.
- Previous experience in a laboratory or environmental testing setting is preferred but not mandatory.

Ability to navigate a lab and office environment, utilize standard office and laboratory equipment, and maintain stamina for prolonged periods of sitting; ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects; vision to read printed materials and computer screens; and hearing and speech to communicate effectively in person or over the phone.
Work EnvironmentWork is conducted in both laboratory and office settings. Employees may be exposed to chemicals, fumes, gases, and other potentially hazardous materials in a laboratory environment.
