We're seeking a seasoned leader to join Sunrose California Eatery as our Executive Chef Director. This is an exceptional opportunity for a proactive and organized individual with strong leadership skills to elevate our kitchen operations.

About 70% of your time will be spent in the kitchen, overseeing teams across dishwashing, prep, line cooking, bakery, receiving, expo, and inventory management. The remaining 30% will focus on administrative duties such as ordering, scheduling, and inventory oversight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleanliness & Organization
    • Maintain a spotless kitchen environment that meets health and safety standards.
    • Keep all BOH areas, restrooms, and equipment in peak condition.
    • Ensure daily standards are met to keep the kitchen organized and checklist-compliant.
    • Develop and implement a maintenance schedule for kitchen equipment.
  • Workflow & Scheduling
    • Manage daily staffing and optimize workflow during busy times.
    • Own and enforce checklists to maintain efficiency and quality.
    • Foster a culture of engagement and accountability among team members.
    • Oversee payroll and budgeting to meet financial targets.
  • Accountability & Quality Control
    • Establish and enforce recipe standards to ensure consistency and quality.
    • Conduct regular quality inspections to address issues promptly.
    • Maintain accurate inventory control through clear labeling, temperature checks, and organized storage.
  • Inventory & Cost Control
    • Optimize stock levels to avoid shortages or waste.
    • Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
  • Staff Training & Team Development
    • Train and mentor team members on cooking techniques, safety, and recipes.
    • Reinforce the importance of completing checklists and upholding cleanliness standards.
    • Foster a culture of ownership and accountability among team members.
  • FOH Collaboration & Guest Experience
    • Collaborate with front-of-house staff for seamless service and guest satisfaction.
    • Handle guest inquiries and special requests with professionalism.

We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
