The Surgical Nurse Specialist is integral to all phases of patient care, encompassing pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative stages, adhering to the privileges sanctioned by the Medical Center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively engage in fulfilling the mission of AHMC Healthcare, demonstrating a commitment to organizational values such as Customer Service, Patient Rights, Confidentiality, and Environmental Care.
- Support and uphold the ethical standards as set forth by the American Medical Association or other relevant ethical codes in accordance with applicable laws.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a minimum of 3-5 years of comprehensive operating room experience, showcasing proficiency in perioperative nursing as both a scrub and circulating nurse. A solid understanding of surgical anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and operative techniques relevant to the procedures assisted by the Surgical Nurse Specialist is essential.
Demonstrated capability in the unique behaviors expected of a Surgical Nurse Specialist is required. Candidates must comply with all relevant statutes, regulations, and institutional policies governing this role.
Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Nurse Specialist program and internship that aligns with the recommended educational standards is mandatory.
