Department of Chemical EngineeringThe Department of Chemical Engineering at UMass Amherst is a vibrant community of scholars with a strong research focus. With 16 full-time faculty members, 3 lecturers, and over 270 students, we offer a dynamic and collaborative environment for research and teaching.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our faculty as a tenure-track assistant professor in chemical engineering. The successful candidate will have a strong research background in catalysis and reaction engineering, transport and continuum-scale modeling, or process and systems engineering.
Responsibilities- Conduct innovative research in chemical engineering, with a focus on catalysis and reaction engineering, transport and continuum-scale modeling, or process and systems engineering.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in chemical engineering, including core and elective courses.
- Develop and maintain an externally funded research program.
- Contribute to the department's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Strong research background and potential for scholarly excellence.
- Commitment to excellence in teaching and service.
